How AudiCoverage collects and organizes hearing benefit information
Medicare Advantage hearing benefit data is sourced from the CMS Medicare Advantage Plan Benefit Package (PBP) public use files, published annually by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. These filings contain plan-level hearing aid benefit details including coverage status, benefit amounts, exam coverage, and cost-sharing arrangements. Our current data reflects the 2026 plan year and covers approximately 6,900 plans.
ACA Marketplace data is drawn from two CMS sources: the QHP Landscape Individual Market Medical file and the Benefits and Cost Sharing public use file. These filings cover hearing aid benefit status, copay, coinsurance, and frequency limits for plans sold through the Federal Facilitated Exchange. Our current dataset reflects the 2026 plan year across 30+ states. Data from State-Based Exchanges is added as it is published by CMS. Approximately 20,700 plan records were reviewed to build this dataset.
We extract hearing-specific benefit fields directly from CMS public filings and match data across multiple CMS files to build complete plan profiles. Plan identifiers — including contract ID, plan ID, and HIOS ID — are used to link records across sources. No AI-generated summaries appear on free plan cards; all data displayed to consumers comes directly from CMS filings. Where source documents are available and have been verified, references are included.
AudiCoverage does not verify individual eligibility, guarantee coverage or benefits for any specific member, or adjudicate claims. Plan details can change during the plan year without advance notice. Always verify current benefits directly with your insurer or plan administrator before making any coverage decisions.
"Covered" status on this platform reflects what CMS public filings report for a given plan. Actual coverage depends on your specific plan terms, enrollment status, and applicable benefit rules. We make no representation that a plan's reported benefit applies to your individual circumstances.
Medicare Advantage data is updated annually when CMS publishes new PBP files, typically in October for the following plan year. ACA Marketplace data is updated annually when CMS publishes the QHP Landscape files. Our last data update was April 2026. We monitor for mid-year corrections issued by CMS and reprocess the affected data when updates are published.
